Trip to Dallas

Last Wednesday through yesterday, I was visiting my girlfriend Susan and meeting her family in Dallas. I had a phenomenal time, especially while filling my gut with Cici's pizza, Jack-in-the-Box, Sonic, and Olive Garden. Some things I noticed about the great nation of Texas: everyone's fat, yes it's true. There are restaurants EVERYWHERE, like one Whataburger each mile, no exaggeration. And lastly, it's hot as hell, a piercing humid heat that gets you right to the core. Anywho, one of the things we did (and the only one I got pictures of) was go to the Fort Worth Zoo. It was the nicest zoo I've been to in a long time. I took some pictures, and you're in luck; I'm going to show them to you.

We were first greeted by a reminder that we were indeed still in Texas.

Then it was on to the Flamingoes.

BAMBOO

These things

Suzie in front of the most green I saw while down there.

Even more green. Must take a lotta water.

Then we saw these guys putting their hands up to the cage, trying to get this stork to peck them. Here's a bad idea: put your hands up to the cage and try to get this stork to peck you.

Then we saw some bears, and Susan's accent in the video proves she's from Texas, I didn't even realize it was her talking until I heard myself respond to her.

Harpy Eagle, one of the cooler looking raptors.

Suzie feeds the little parakeet some seeds on a stick.

Here's a video of the little guy.

Crappy picture of a Toucan. You get the idea.

Suzie by a real Texas cactus.

Suzie loves up on a golden Komodo Dragon.

Suzie gets a bit more familiar with said Dragon.

Then I took this video of a kookaburra eating a lizard. Used to this sight, Colin?

Then we went into the Reptile and Amphibian building, which was AWESOME. Lots of pics in there, but aquarium lighting sucks, so here's what came out.

Some sort of bigass gecko

Big ol' Day Gecko

This big colorful lizard had a big red head

And a cool green body

Cool lookin toad

Green something snake

Big ol crocodilian

His smaller friend

The dreaded GILA MONSTER OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooooooooooooo....

Some sort of tree Monitor

GAAHH!!! ITZZZA MUHFUGGIN RATTLAH!!!!!11!1

Another big gecko pops up to say hello

OH SHIIII- A VIVARIUM!!!!11!!

Then it was off to downtown Fort Worth.

Just kidding, that was in the zoo as well. We went to the Texas Hall of Wonders, you can see it in the right hand side of the above image. Once inside, we were slapped upside the face by a giant map of Texas. Susan did what was only right and saluted the beast.

Suzie next to a rather large MUHFUGGIN RATTLAAAAAAAHHH!!! SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSsssssssssssssssssssssss!!!!!!

We left the Hall of Mediocre Things and saw a "petting zoo" with this cow eating his own tail.

Suzie brushes a goat

This goat had some hick-like teeth, and seemed to be saying one thing: "WELCOOOME TO TEXAAS!! GA-HYUCK!"

We went into this tidepool-type area, where they had this cute sea turtle floating around:

Suzie took a rest in a Texas-sized chair. She didn't fit well.

Then we saw a cuuuuuute little silver fox that wanted to snooze.

And then we saw this adoooooorable Burrowing Owl

And THEN my camera died. And almost immediately after, a voice came onto the loudspeaker and said the park is closing for the day. Then we watched as all the non-English speaking people continued walking further into the park as everyone else started to walk out.

We didn't get to see any lions or elephants or other big African animals, but that's just more stuff we'll get to see next time we go, because there will be a next time. I had a great time in Dallas and plan to go back as soon as I can.

you think that first big gecko is the "giant gecko" we looked into way back when?

sadly, he didn't actually say that. I think I made that line up because he strongly disliked the constant fart and poop jokes my friends and I made.

Also, I just set your amazing Totoro art as my desktop background (it replaced an image of Jeff Goldblum shirtless, I hope you are proud)

1) ARE YOU WEARING A V-NECK T?!?!?!
2) SOO GOOD TO HEAR YOUR VOICES!
3) WE FEED KOOKABURRAS EACH MORNING, DID THIS ONE BASH THE LIZARD BEFORE GULPING IT? (I DIDN'T SEE IT IN THE VID, BUT THEY USUALLY POUND THEIR FOOD AGAINST A ROCK, CAUSE THEY EAT SNAKES, AND NO ONE WANTS TO EAT A LIVE SNAKE)
4) AMAZING POST, GOOD READ, THNX!

I noticed susan is hanging out with a metal dragon; tell her to beware. One false move around those guys....
